The Collective Innovation to Fight Climate Change – ERASMUS+ Project comes to an end, but before that, we would like to thank you for your support, participation, and joining us on this collective journey.
Collective Innovation to Fight Climate Change was born with a clear aim and a vision to fight climate change through education, collective innovation, and cooperative efforts. Instructing and guiding individuals, educators, entrepreneurs, employees, employers, SMEs, and organisations altogether. Supporting the successor of the European Cooperation in Education and Training (ET2020) for more ambitious benchmarks for adult education and for a more social and sustainable future where adult education can play a central role in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and combating climate change.
Over the lifetime of our project, we have completed multiple initiatives, projects, meetings, and activities. We designed and developed four outputs, including a handbook aimed at upskilling entrepreneurs and SMEs on how to use the innovation management process in developing their sustainability strategies to contribute to the fight against climate change and guide them in becoming agents of change for their colleagues and employees. A Toolkit aimed at entrepreneurs and small and medium businesses on using innovation management to allow them to integrate creativity to introduce new ideas, processes, or products. A Manual aimed at entrepreneurs, owners, and managers of small and medium businesses to be the agents of change within their businesses in terms of climate change and contributing to reducing the negative impact on the environment through transforming their organisation’s culture to inspire and empower colleagues and employees to embrace eco behaviour in the workplace and promoting green practises. A carbon footprint calculator is designed to provide individuals and small businesses with a digital tool that measures and calculates their carbon footprint and CO2 emissions.
In order to understand the views and experiences of a range of actors regarding climate change, we decided to prepare and share on our website two surveys: a survey to provide an overview of current practises adopted by SMEs and entrepreneurs to involve their employees in ‘green behaviour within the enterprise while highlighting the successes and challenges that face these enterprises within this context, and a ‘Green Transition Survey’ that presents the readiness, commitment, and needs to do business or implement projects in the fields of fighting climate change, the green transition, and the circular economy.
We also believed that adult education plays a central role in achieving the UN SDGs and combating climate change. Therefore, we planned and organised two training courses aimed at educating businesses, individuals, and educators themselves. The first training course took place in Brussels, where participants from a wide variety of ages joined us to upskill themselves on the topics of climate change and sustainability, sharing their experience with organisations they are working with. Our second training course took place in March this year, where trainees had the opportunity to learn how to design their sustainability strategy, culture, and values within their organisations to combat climate change.
Towards the end of this collective project, we organise an international conference, bringing together key climate and sustainability experts. The event brought together key players in the sustainability ecosystem from a wide variety of sectors to cross-pollinate and support actions to support our fight against climate change.
Creating a culture of innovation key to making change and the conference audience heard insights and experience from various perspectives on the important matter of sustainability and the new technologies, plans and projects underway to help make our world a little greener.

Their continuous cooperation and efforts made this shared initiative a success. Collective Innovation to Fight Climate Change – ERASMUS+ Project successfully attained all the established objectives, making a great step towards a more sustainable planet.
